El joven fue hallado a salvo por una mujer que estaba corriendo y ya ha sido reunido con su familia.
"Gracias a Dios por haber encontrado Kahil," dijo su madre. "Las palabras no pueden expresar lo feliz que estoy."
"Él está sonriendo", dijo la tía de Kahil, Sandra Gray. "Me dejó abrazarlo y besarlo y él no siempre hacen eso."
La persona que lo encontró dijo a la policía que reconoció a Kahil por haber visto su foto en los medios de comunicación.
Sandra Gray dijo que la familia cree que Kahil caminó todo el camino, desde el sur de Chicago hasta Glenview, a pesar de las altas temperaturas.
